ASU Rally - Newcastle - 21 June

Wednesday, 21st June. 1.00 pm: Australian Services Union Rally outside
the Salvation Army Head Office, Cnr. Parry & Union Sts, Newcastle
West).

The Salvos are proposing a restructure which would see the elimination
of sleep-over shifts at the Faith Cottage (the only 24-hour supervised
women's & children's refuge in the Hunter).

This would result in a cut of $180 p.w. to ASU members' pay packets.
The vesture sees the ASU members' employment terminated - they are to
be re-employed on a part-time basis.

The ASU is encouraging the community to attend the rally and support
the union in fighting for workers' rights.
