Dear Comrades,
The CFMEU is in dispute with the management of the Sydney Opera
House. In a cost cutting exercise a union contractor has been sacked
and undercut in tendering by multinational United Group Services.
This company has refused to employ the existing union delegate and
an injured worker on site who is on light duties. Other workers
including one worker, who has worked on site for 38 years including
working on the construction of the Sydney Opera House, have been
told they will not be employed unless they work on a non-union
individual contract (AWA). .
The CFMEU is organising a picket at the
Sydney Opera House 5.30 pm,
Friday February 24th.
